There is something so special about October weddings on Prince Edward Island. Jill & Bruce’s day at Cymbria Lions Club was filled with so many special moments. From getting ready at beautiful nearby Airbnb to sharing a private first look and vows before their outdoor ceremony. Even with a cold and rainy forecast, these two fully embraced the day and created something that felt completely them!!

A Beautiful Morning Getting Ready in PEI

We started the day getting ready at some Airbnb’s nearby! The sun was pouring through the windows and creating the prettiest natural glow while everyone was getting ready.

I photographed Jill getting ready while my second photographer captured Bruce’s morning. It was important to them to have both sides of the story documented for those quiet moments before the ceremony.

The details were absolutely beautiful, but the bridesmaid dresses were definitely one of my favourite parts. They were PERFECT for a fall wedding on Prince Edward Island and paired so beautifully with the florals. Every little detail felt thoughtful and completely true to their vision.

A First Look and Private Vows Before Their Ceremony

I will ALWAYS be a fan of a first look, and private vows before the ceremony. Getting to witness these quiet moments between the them was honestly such a special moment. They got to have time that was just theirs before the ceremony. These are the moments that make wedding days so special to photograph. You can’t really plan those moments, and that is exactly why I love capturing them!!

Embracing The Weather at The Dunes Studio Gallery & Cafe

We headed to The Dunes Studio Gallery & Cafe for portraits, and honestly, it was the PERFECT spot for them.

The Dunes has such a unique PEI feel. It’s artistic, beautiful, and has so many little details that make it such a fun place to photograph. The weather was definitely giving us a classic PEI October day (aka cold and rainy!!), but we embraced it. Some of my favourite photos happen when, we stop worrying about the “perfect” conditions and just work with what we got. The softer light, the moody skies, and the way these two interacted made their photos feel so romantic.

A Beautiful October Ceremony at Cymbria Lions Club

Jill & Bruce’s ceremony at Cymbria Lions Club was such a special part of the day!!

Even though it was a chilly October day, they embraced it completely and celebrated surrounded by all of their favourite people. The rain had been coming and going throughout the day, but the sun decided to peek through at the perfect time and gave us the prettiest little bit of golden light.

After they said their vows, everyone headed inside to continue the celebrations. Cymbria Lions Club was such a cozy place to spend the rest of the evening, with everyone warming up, laughing, and celebrating Jill & Bruce.
